Virtual Border Watch

Unfortunately this administration is not doing enough to protect our borders. Texas has done something on it's own to help protect our Country from powerful and ruthless Mexican crime cartels and violent transnational gangs. They have strategically placed day/night surveillance cameras along the Mexico - Texas border that are constantly streaming the known areas of illegal entry. The cameras are moved to different locations as traffic decreases or increases in another are.

Gov Rick provided $2 million to the Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition in an effort to curtail illegal entry into the State of Texas. These illegals soon find their way to other states, therefore this is a concern to the whole Country.

Local law enforcement agencies worked with the State of Texas to conduct a four week test run of this new Virtual Border Fence to assess the video camera capabilities and public interest in reporting suspicious activities observed over the Internet. In four short weeks The Virtual Sheriff's Deputies and 21 cameras had the following results: over 27,940,119 hits and 2,780 reports of suspicious activity.

"Leveraging advanced technology is a key part of our state-led approach to making our border stronger and our nation safer, and I am pleased with and will continue to support the Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition commitment to seeing this virtual border watch concept fully realized," said Gov. Perry. "Under this innovative program and the watchful eye of law enforcement and citizens, those criminals, predators and terrorists looking to exploit our border with Mexico or do harm in our communities will lose their greatest strategic asset: the cloak of secrecy."

Become a Virtual Texas Deputy and help protect our border!

The Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition (TBSC) has joined BlueServoSM in a public-private partnership to deploy the Virtual Community Watch, an innovative real-time surveillance program designed to empower the public to proactively participate in fighting border crime.

You don't need to be a citizen of Texas to participate in this. There is no cost to you and you may be responsible for catching an illegal in the act. BlueServo also has a program that you can set up your own surveillance cameras in your neighborhood at no cost to you.

As you are sitting at your computer open another window click this link and watch the cameras for illegal aliens coming into our country. There will be a description of the area on the screen to pay particular attention to. If you see any suspicious activity just click a button to email the activity to the local sheriff's department in the jurisdiction of the camera you are watching.

The concept of Neighborhood Watch has flooded many local communities across the country resulting in a reduction of crime in those areas. I think this Virtual Border Fence is a wonderful idea. Hopefully New Mexico, Arizona and California will soon pick up on this technology. Let's fight for safe borders.

  1. I enjoyed the article, but not being from a border town it is hard for me to understand the problems that are faced. I don't like illegals taking jobs away from our people and not paying taxes. If this helps to stop them from coming over, I am for it.

  2. Excellent article, Deanie, I may have to bring this up before my students. I don't have time to sit and watch a computer all day, but for the people who do, I think this could be an asset to our state.

  3. I read the article and it was very interesting. I think that the virtual border watch program could work, that is if the Obama nation will keep their hands off.

  4. We need all the support we can get to fight the intrusion of our borders. I think it is a great idea. I live in the north, but see the results of our broken borders. I will pass this on to my friends. From what I understand, the Virtual fence is making a difference.

  5. I told my father in law about this and he had me show him how to sign up. What a great idea those Texans have. My father in law has nothing else to do and is avidly looking at the videos.

  6. Why don't you have your father in law join the site. If he likes to make comments, we'll keep him busy. At this time we haven't heard from him. Tell him to keep us posted on his Virtual Texas Deputy experiences.

  7. Hell yes that should help a bit, but we sure need more! Why aren't we protecting our borders and the citizens from the drugs and gangs coming across the borders anyway? Why can't the govt spend money on trying to clean up its own yard before tossing billions out the window to ungrateful nations all over the world????????

  8. Wow, P once again you said it all. The reason he is not spending any money protecting our borders and citizens is because all he has on his mind is Obamacare.

  9. Seems like all this administration cares about is Obamacare. Wonder what happened to the threat of terrorists and most importantly the job losses in this country. It is about time the states and citizens take action into their own hands.

As always your articles are refreshing. Maybe you can teach RR to be the same way.

  11. It should help out Texas Border Patrol a little and I wonder what the patrol people have to say about it.

  12. This is nice info Deanie. And this program might do a lot of good until the government grants them all amnesty, health care, and Social Security. Oops! I forgot education, also.

  13. It is a great idea, I hope it works. Maybe some of our seniors can help monitor it. I will give this info to my mother who says she has too much time on her hands.

  14. It baffles me that this administration refuses to do any more to protect our borders. i will try to do my part and help this new program if I can get someone to show me what to do.

  15. Gov. Rick Perry (R-Tx) has once again asked Big Government for help in securing the Tx. border. I am sure this administration does not consider this a big threat to our Nation and will not release the funds needed.
The Virtual Fence is not all that is needed to keep all the illegals, cartels, and terrorists out of our Country. I do hope that the program will continue, as it is helping to deter the undesirables.
