The Haunting Of Ground Zero

Muslim Terrorists are on the rise in the US. The shocker is that we are discovering they are Home Grown. With so much controversy over the Muslims in this country a fear is growing among our citizens. I realize and want to emphasize that not all Muslims are terrorists, and should not be treated as such.

We know the Twin Towers were blown up on 9/11/01 by Muslim Terrorists. Nearly 3,000 people were killed, 300 of whom were Muslims and many more seriously and permanently injured. Unfortunately that act of terrorism has caused us to be very cautious and critical of the Muslim world.

On 9/11/11, the tenth anniversary of The Twin Towers Bombing a 13 story Mosque is to be opened just 2 blocks from Ground Zero! The "community center" will include a swimming pool, sports facilities, theatre, meeting rooms and a place for some 2,000 to gather for prayer on Fridays. There will also be a Muslim Culture display and will be open to the public. (As they haven't begun construction I do not foresee that date being reached.) I have heard that date was chosen to honor all the victims and families of the tragedy.

Nihad Awad, the Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) stated "building this mosque is the solution not the problem, because Islam calls for rapprochement with other religions and…a culture of moderation."
In an attempt to bring hope to the Muslim Community of NY and all New Yorkers to move on from the 9/11 attack Cordoba House will be built.

Daisy Khan, Executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA) says; "For us, it's a symbol, a platform that will give voice to the silent majority of Muslims who suffer at the hands of extremists. A center will show that Muslims will be part of rebuilding lower Manhattan," adding that Cordoba will be open to everyone.

The property was purchased by Muslim investors and is located in a zone that qualifies for the Mosque to be built. They are having problems with the finances but feel certain they will get the funds. Many are speculating where the money may come from and feel any donations should be transparent. The estimated cost of this structure is over $100 million.

There are many people and organizations fighting a Muslim shrine being built just 600 feet from Ground Zero.
A rally against the mosque is planned for June 6, D-Day, by the human-rights group Stop Islamicization of America. Executive director Pamela Geller said, "What could be more insulting and humiliating than a monster mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Center buildings that were brought down by an Islamic jihad attack? Any decent American, Muslim or otherwise, wouldn't dream of such an insult. It's a stab in the eye of America."

Madeline Brooks, a member of the New York chapter of Act! for America, a non-profit organization that "is opposed to the authoritarian values of Islam fascism," believes the Cordoba Initiative's agenda is to co-opt the 9/11 narrative and transform it into a Muslim conquest.
"Is it a victory for Islam over non-Muslims?" she asks. "Is this a feather in his (Rauf's) cap?"
Brooks says she's received hundreds of angry e-mails from people who say they can't believe the audacity of this project. "Why here?" she asks. "Why are you offending and outraging people... stirring up a huge hornet's nest?"

In response Rauf says "This is where we can amplify the voice of the moderates," he says. "We have been condemning terrorism since 9/11; our voices have not been heard."

Awad added that "the Muslims should reassure the American people by disseminating correct information about Islam, which is a religion of peace and love." He also said that "there are supporters and businessmen who are overseeing the [mosque] project, and they are also concerned with putting forward a culture of dialogue."

This center will be open to the public with the hope it will bring in the local tenants and tourists to enjoy their facilities. They also want to teach the American people and people around the world what they're true culture is. They are classifying this as a community project. These people believe Muslim is now an American religion.

Many people from New York do support the Mosque, but most don't respect the location it will be located at. They feel it is like betrayal to the victims and their families of 9/11. Ground Zero is considered sacred ground by millions of people and the arrival of the Mosque in the neighborhood has brought much horror to them. Why should we honor the Muslim faith when that faith has done so much to harm us and our country?

I believe there are many wonderful Muslims in America and they have a terrible road ahead of them. Most of us do not know or understand their religion and at this point we don't care to. All we know is that Muslims attacked our country on our soil; killed our brothers, sisters, Moms, Dads and children. The attacks are becoming more in number and many fear for their safety.

Can we find it in our hearts to forgive the honest decent Muslims for the acts of a Nation who holds contempt against us?  The Mosque may be a good idea, but should be located somewhere not overlooking Ground Zero.
For the sake of humanity I think we should distinguish between the two groups.

  1. I feel there are some good muslims in this country and around the world. The problem is how do you differentiate them? At this point ALL Muslims are the TERRORISTS. Including the one in office as President of The United States Of America. Something has to be done.
I do not know much about the Muslim religion. A center like this could be good to inform the world what they are about. The location sucks and will never be accepted by American Citizens. You are right, that center will haunt the sacred grounds of Ground Zero.

  2. The city needs to fight them on this. No way should a Muslim shrine be built there. Talk about a slap in the face to America.

  3. A friend of my son was killed on 9/11 so I have a hard time having good feelings about any Muslim. They call it a Holy war, while I call it a plain war. I know there are good Muslims, but to be friends with them I couldn't do it. I don't believe they should be building a Temple by where the Twin Towers used to be. To me this is a black mark against our country.

  4. The Muslims destroyed our Twin Towers and then want to put up a shrine beside them. They think this is honoring Americans, this is degrading to me. They are probably wanting to get on the roof after it is built so they can throw their shoes in anger at the people below.
My vote is tell them no.

  5. I know there are decent Muslims in the world. But, NO I can't find it in my heart to forgive the good ones for all the killings that are being done by the bad ones.

  6. I can't forgive them either. How absurd to even think they should build a Muslim Temple so close to Ground Zero. I heard they only build Temples on ground they have conquered. If that is true, this group is not denouncing the group of terrorist Muslims they are supporting them.

  7. If they build this it will be a slap in the face of all Americans. We should boycott all New York City events if this gets done.

  8. To me this is a very inappropriate way for Muslims, under the pretention of showing their respect to the US, to move forward. I believe Americans across the Nation will show their oppostion to this. As for me I will never honor or visit any thing so disgusting as a shrine from people who destroyed our lives and our Towers.

  9. I have been around some Muslims who appear to be nice people, but have never got to know them that well. How would we know that what they are building is not another act to establish a headquarters in this country. I would have to say no to this.

  10. I have much to say about this topic.

First of all I am OUTRAGED! This is a sin.

I heard a good interview online where the subject of this blog is addressed with detail from Gadi Adelman Counter-Terrorism Expert whom is also an author and speaker. You can hear it also by going to his site . “ Under the reason to donate “ click on his pic in the box and listen up.
    http://gadiadelman.com/

See what your opinions are after listening.

I BELIEVE GOOD MUSLIMS ARE THE ENABLERS AND DESERVE NO SYMPATHY AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

((Correct me if I am wrong (in assumptions and statements) with true facts please you can back up - for I am here for nothing but knowledge))

Seems its time for me to wake up and learn everything about the muslims and jihad. This is my priority and YOU better too----- damnit before it’s to late . You also must know by now the US no longer recognizes them as a threat to our security. They are becoming sympathizers and welcoming this into our nation. They keep our borders open to all the illegals and say we are wrong to oppose it SHAME ON OUR LEADERS !!!!!
This what you want people? Want to be weak in fighting this off? Will Israel stand alone why we all go down because of our ignorance?
(Yes I am going to learn and understand and fight back with every breath I have and share all the real information I can get my hands on! What are you going to do? What are you doing).

Second I have no sympathy for any Muslim, good or bad. Wonder why? You think I am biased? You think I am bitter? You think I am mean? OK good but just read why I stand up and say such a mean thing as no sympathy for ANY of them … yah if you dare.
The quote un quote “good muslims “ do absolutely NOTHING to help stop the disease the of jihad, do they?? Where is the support to stand for the religion and not for the sickness spreading from within their own community ? HUH? It’s not there, they have been assimilated and are nothing but the guppies of the terrorists who hide behind the Koran from what I am seeing and learning.
HEY EXCUSE ME BUT How in the hell can you sympathize with people that will not stand up and denounce their own sick murderous fellow muslims while they sit idly by in fear which in turn is enabling the movement to spread like a deadly cancer and is to exterminate those of us who are not converted or planning to convert to their twisted, insane religion ?? SHAME ON ALL MUSLIMS !!

Look what they are doing, have been doing to Israel forever for heavens sake. Look what they are doing in other nations of the word now… Yet no good muslim group stands up, unites, penetrates and exposes the secret goings on nor tries to stop this.

  11. I agree with you P, I just think you are looking at it in a backward way. We first need to start with the Whitehouse and get rid of all the damn Muslims there (excluding Bo the WH dog - he did leave his mark on the Presidential Plane. I believe he's a right-winger 100%.) From there we need to move through the House and Senate. After we have eradicated the cancer within then we can start the healing process of getting rid of the rest of them.

I agree with P and everyone else why should we forgive the good Muslims? They are not doing anything to prove they are good.

  13. I don't think this will be the haunting of Ground Zero. Once again it will be the destruction of New York City. If the Muslims wanted to let us know they were against the bombings they should have tried to let us understand their religion much sooner than this. This whole temple has the smell of disaster for our country.

  14. This is an insane idea. people. Hello New York...WHY are you permitting this to happen in YOUR CITY, in YOUR STATE. GET REAL! Do you not understand that these mosques are recruiting stations for terrorists..Just look at Al-Awlaki and his long connection to Yemen and Al-Quida. Yeah! He's the guy, born in New Mexico and educated in the US who preached in mosques in California and Virginia. He is closely linked to the 9/11 traqedy, the underwear bomber the Fort Hood shootings and other terrorist activities. And they want to put a recruiting center at Ground Zero in the pretense that it is a place of worship and a cultural center. GET REAL PEOPLE! Maybe the Muslems will OK a CIA recruiting station in downtown Tehran but don't hold your breath. This is insane, offensive, disgraceful and sacrilige.

  15. Beware of "Moderate Muslims"... 16 centuries of history shows that , in the end result, there is no-such-thing. The "moderates" ALWAYS side with the Islamist "extremeists"....repeat: ALWAYS!!

  16. Wow P you said a mouthful. I will be looking for more from you since you are making this your goal to learn more about the Muslims. I know all the members of RFA will want to learn more.

I agree with you Deanie, I don't feel they should erect a building near ground zero. I'm sorry I haven't been to your sites in a while, i've been under the weather. keep the words flowing.

  18. Sadly, I do not think this can be stopped. I heard there was a vote and it passed. How sick that anyone in NY would even want to vote yes for a temple to honor the Muslims.

    ReplyDelete
  19. There was a vote by a New York city community board and they agreed to support the "mosque monuement" by a vote of 29 in favor of the building and one vote against. They rationalized their support by statements like, "It's a seed for peace" and, "trying to meet a growing need for prayer space. .." WHAT! They want to provide "prayer space" for Muslims but non Muslims are denied prayer in many places. Figure that one out. Sounds "slightly" hypocratical to me. No double standard here!!! Of course not.
Despite overwhelming opposition by those most affected, the city board passed the measure with disgracefully litle resistance among the boards members. Somehow this seems like another case of the "ruling class" knows what's best for you and if you don't like it, "that's tough S***". Kinda like the Health Reform Bill, don't you think.
The construction site was purchased by the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Corodba Initiative (sounds like activist groups to me) in 2009. The site contains a building, built in 1857-1858 which is under consideration for landmark status. The actual construction of this "Death to the Infadels" monument may hinge on the decision of the Landmark Preservation Commission. If the historic building is granted landmark status, permission to destroy the structure must be obtained from the commission.

  20. Adding this final thought to my previous comment.
Maybe WE THE PEOPLE need to apply to the Landmark Preservation Commissionto to declare the United States of America as a Historic Landmark. That way, no one would be able to destroy US without permission.
