Deporting US Citizens

The 14th Amendment clearly states:  "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
This amendment was primarily added after the Civil War to include Negroes who were not considered citizens of the United States.

Hunter honestly answered, "I would have to say yes. And let me tell you why. You can say, 'You are a mean guy. That's not a humanitarian thing to do.' We simply cannot afford what we're doing right now. We just can't afford it. California is going under."
Hunter has since been questioned about this and stands firm with his convictions along with many other lawmakers.

The illegal parent/parents get deported and generally leave their children with other illegals or families who cannot support them. They remain wards of the State. After a short period of time, the illegal parents return to this Country to live off the rewards their children are receiving. Most of these children can't speak English and do not have much of a future here. (Not that they have much to look forward to in their illegal parents homeland.) Is this a humanitarian way of life? Leave your children behind for someone else to raise and sneak back across the border once again, risking leaving your children orphans. If you make it you face deportation for the ump-teenth time.

The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868 and has been disputed on many occasions. The Supreme Court first considered the clause in the Slaughter-House Cases of 1872, unanimously recognizing that the phrase "was intended to exclude from its operation children of . . . citizens or subjects of foreign States born within the United States." This view was confirmed in the 1883 case of Elk v. Wilkens. The phrase, according to the court, meant "not merely subject in some respect or degree to the jurisdiction of the United States, but completely subject to their political jurisdiction, and owing them direct and immediate allegiance." Children of temporary visitors to the United States, particularly those who are here illegally, owe primary allegiance to their parent's country, not to the U.S., and are therefore not guaranteed citizenship by the terms of the 14th Amendment.

There is much controversy about the anchor babies in this country. According to the 14th amendment they are legal US Citizens. Should they be? Most people agree these children should return to their parents home country. The illegals (primarily Mexicans) who are in this country blatantly fly the Mexican Flag and pledge their allegiance to Mexico, with no respect for the United States. They come here not knowing what their future will be, their legal children are awarded State aide, food cards, health care. According to Rep Hunter California spends an estimated 10 to 20 billion dollars a year on the illegals on health, education and jails. Money California and most other states cannot afford. It is no wonder California is in the financial state of bankruptcy. I am certain they could use that money on projects that would promote a better lifestyle for their legal citizens.

Nathan Deal (D-Ga) authored a bill to change the status of children of illegal immigrants, HR1868 is cosponsored by 91 other representatives. The Birthright Citizenship Act of 2009, still in a House Committee is summarized by the Open Congress as follows:
"This bill would eliminate birthright citizenship for children born to undocumented immigrants in the U.S. Current U.S. law automatically recognizes any person born on American soil as a natural born citizen. Under the bill, only children with at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen, a legal permanent resident, or an undocumented immigrant serving in the military would be considered citizens."

I am not for depriving or mistreating innocent children, but do feel something has to be done to prevent the illegals from gaining entry to this Country. Why should we support their children when they cannot support our Country and become contributing citizens. Most of the illegals I have encountered couldn't make it on their own if their Legal Children did not receive the benefits they do. To make matters worse these people are able to smuggle other family members into this Country, they live in small dilapidated homes which are not meant for so many people. The newcomers soon have children who will become dependent on the States and on and on...
Good Grief Obama wants to give all the Illegals amnesty! This insanity has got to stop!

    You bring down our lifestyle with your lack of assimilating into our ways, rules and laws. You don't belong here if you don't come here legally. If you want to be here abide by the laws of this country or get out - ENOUGH SAID.

  6. I do feel sorry for the illegals legal children. They grow up not knowing which country they belong to. They need to be with their parents and should be returned with their illegal parents. They will only remain part of our welfare system. We need to let our representatives know we support this new bill being proposed.

  7. Why is my government not helping the poor, abused babies that are here legally? That were born to citizens of the USA? I do not feel sorry for babies of the illegal law breakers. I have no sympathy for them because they do not deserve better treatment than the children that are here legally and are neglected, fall through the cracks. There is such child abuse in this country from parents killing their kids ( mostly moms ) to the perverted sicko pedo's, abductions and torture ( forget not what happened to the gal in California that was abducted and her abductor - see article: http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/08/27/california.missing.girl/ to the treatment of the child welfare system the govt runs. cmon folks clean up our own country here for God sakes.

  8. Manuel, if you were legal you wouldn't have to worry about your babies being sent back to Mexico. Why the hell should we have to pay for your rugrats, we didn't have them. What kind of father are you that would leave your babies behind with strangers to take care of? You sound like a do nothing illegal to me, and if you are "bon voyage."

  9. It is a shame the children have to be the ones to pay the price for the misguided deeds created by their parents. I don't feel the U.S. should have to support all of these children while their parents are jumping back and forth across the border.
    I do feel sympathy for them because they are too young to understand. I can also see the parents not wanting to take their children into a country facing so many problems.
    If the U.S. takes on any more financial burdens than what we have now, I believe our country could possibly go down to their level.

  10. Manuel your babies were not conceived in a legal manner. Unfortunately they were brought into this world for you and your wife to make money off. They get the subsidies that are reserved for the children of legal citizens. If you think they should have a better life than why did you sneak across the border and come here to have them. Where will they be WHEN YOU GET DEPORTED?
    It is obvious you have no intention of taking them back to your home land. What in hell makes you think they will be better off without you?
    By the way I do feel sorry for the children.

  11. P, I agree with what you are saying. There are far too many people who are citizens who need help and can't get it. States are going broke with all the expenses we are paying to illegal families. Health care alone could break this country. The children should have to leave when their parents are deported. That is where they belong.

  12. Being the mother of 3, I love children. I had a hard enough time raising my own without having to support millions of illegals. What's sad is it's not the childrens fault. It's the responsiblity of the parents who feel we owe them a living. Get out and work for your future like the rest of us have done.

  13. Of course they should take their children with them. I don't know why that should even be a question. They do not belong here and are not legal citizens according to the intention of our constitution.

  14. Sadly, we have felt sorry for too many years for the illegals coming across our Southern Border. The pity for them has got to stop. We can no longer afford to give them the luxuries of Freedom. I do not think they even respect this country just what they can take from us. It is time for them to leave - under penalty of law if necessary. Let them take their legal children with them, that is where they belong.

  15. The question posed about anchor babies provoke even more questions involving Federal law, economics, compassion and morality. Personally I can think of nothing so horribly devistating as being involentarially seperated from my children when they were young. The first question that comes to mind is "what kind of low-life person would knowingly and willingly put their child or children at risk. I cannot understand their morbid mentality or lack of morality and I abhore it. Clearly, the unwritten laws of nature, require parents to protect and nature their young until they are of an age to care for themselves. When illegals are deported, they should "hoist anchor" and sail for home, taking their young with them.

  16. I agree they should deport the children also. We need to change the law that the children of illegals are not citizens and entitled to receive benefits. I don't get it, the parents are illegals, but they can go into government offices and get aide for their children. Why aren't they arrested at that time? It would definitely stop them from having the gall to even apply.
